Affluent Bargain Hunters

Austerity is growing, even among the wealthiest. That’s according to a Luxury Daily report on a study from Unity Marketing that surveyed nearly 1,500 affluent consumers about their shopping habits. The study also found that affluents like to shop online—about 25% said they feel the best shopping is on the web and about 50% said they shop online rather than in-store whenever they can. However, shoppers who bought items in-store spent more than online shoppers did. Constant promotions also have led shoppers to believe they should always get a deal or discount when shopping. And while it might seem they have money to spare, sales/promotions are the second-most common reason affluent consumers shop (needing something is first). GP
