Consumers’ Biggest Pet Peeve

Brand-Building firm PwC recently surveyed 1,000 shoppers to get their insight about their grocery shopping experiences and what they hope the future of retail will look like. While 83% of respondents prefer to shop at a traditional grocery store, they said they want more personalized attention in the form of targeted coupons, a good rewards program and convenient in-store shopping experiences. The survey also found shoppers’ biggest pet peeve is standing in lines. More than half of respondents complained about long lines and crowds.

Consumers also want “shopping advisors.” That means more shoppers will be looking to store associates for product information, recipes or purchase recommendations. In addition, consumers want more control and flexibility in how they can earn and use their loyalty program reward points, the study found. GP
