Facebook can be great for business promotion, and more companies now are experimenting with Pinterest, but what happens when the two platforms are combined? Lowe’s is hoping to see good results as one of the first brands to feature its Pinterest content on its Facebook page, according to MediaPost publications. A tool from social marketing firm Vitrue creates a customer Pinterest tab on Lowe’s Facebook page and automatically pulls content from Lowe’s Pinterest page.

The combination of the sites is having an effect. After a little more than a week, Lowe’s saw a 32% increase in followers of its main Pinterest page. Certain board features, with focused topics such as craft ideas or family, saw follower gains of nearly 60% in the same time period. It helps as well that Lowe’s has been working to cultivate its Pinterest audience by posting product images related to home décor and DIY projects since October. GP
