SEGreen Conference Scheduled for 2017

Allison Westbrook
The SEGreen Conference is scheduled for August 1-3, 2017 at The Classic Center in Athens, Georgia. It will offer industry professionals a dynamic and interactive experience with tours, education, keynote sessions, and participant-driven roundtable discussions. The conference will unveil some of the hottest new plants coming to market, the best practices for growing, and a unique opportunity to learn from leading industry plant experts.

The conference will kick off with a tour of local nurseries on August 1. Other tour options will include the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, The Trial Gardens at UGA, and a UGA Campus Tour. The conference will include the SEGreen Plant Conference, the SEGreen Landscape Conference, and the SNA Research Conference (August 2-3). SNA will be conducting annual business, as well with 119th Annual SNA Business Meeting, and the SNA State Officer’s Conference.

Transforming from a traditional trade show format, the SEGreen Conference will have a clear focus on connecting the industry to identify today’s business challenges and opportunities, develop new insights and solutions, and deliver strategic education for all segments of the horticulture industry. Education will be divided into major areas of focus with content and hands-on training designed to further develop careers and expand business.

This transformation will allow the traditional exhibitor to participate as a sponsor of the event. Sponsorship packages will include all-access passes to allow face-to-face engagement throughout the three days of tours, keynotes, roundtables, and educational sessions to create meaningful business relationships without time constraints. The sponsor package will also include tabletop display space, as well as other promotion before, during, and after the event. SEGreen will provide a platform to communicate, demonstrate, train, or simply engage with customers on a personal, one-to-one level.

“This new format will allow both buyers and sellers more face time to more fully interact, share, and learn without the barriers of the typical trade show format,” said Karen Summers, SNA Executive VP. “Our 2016 educational program was a very focused program with such valuable content and lots of exhibitors wanted to participate in the sessions, but they were tied to their booth. I am excited about this evolution, and I am confident the 2017 event will have new energy, with substantive conversations, and provocative discussions, providing insights and new perspectives for everyone involved.” GT
