BFG Founder Passes

GrowerTalks received a notice from BFG Supply that their founder, John Gander, passed away at the age of 102. John founded Burton Flower and Garden in 1972 and the distribution division, BFG Supply, was added in 1975. He was chairman until retiring in 1998. John was a well-respected member in his community; the high school baseball field bears his name, and he was a member of the Burton-Middlefield Rotary Club. His vision of providing horticultural supplies throughout the Great Lakes region continues to be a primary focus of BFG today. GT
