BASF announced that William (Bill) Baxter has been appointed as National Sales Manager, Professional & Specialty Solutions. Bill has over 25 years of experience working in the agricultural crop protection, turf and pest control markets, with 17 years at BASF holding positions in sales management, U.S. and global marketing.

Throughout his career, Bill has been an active member in industry associations, including the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) and Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment (RISE).


FLUENCE BIOENGINEERING announces that horticulture industry veteran Tom Contrisciano has joined the Fluence leadership team as Director of Horticulture Sales. Tom brings 30 years of experience in the commercial horticulture industry, including technical and product support and sales in both hard goods and green goods.

Tom will pull from his decades of diversified horticulture experience to assist in the deployment of optimized lighting solutions for edible and ornamental floriculture producers in greenhouse and vertical farming facilities. He spent most of his career throughout North America, where he gained an understanding and appreciation of the regional differences and intricacies that impact producers’ business and cultivation needs.

Prior to Fluence, Tom was the Technical Product Representative throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for PanAmerican and Kieft Seed Co. Prior to PanAmerican, he was the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Eastern Canada Sales Manager for The Paul Ecke Ranch.


HOFFMAN NURSERY has expanded their sales team with the addition of two members: Darren Barshaw joins the team as Director of Outside Sales and Annie Saunders is the nursery’s newest Sales & Customer Service Assistant.

Darren brings 33 years of experience in the horticultural industry, including stints in the landscaping sector, as a production grower and in horticultural sales. He has worked for a range of companies, including Vandenberg Bulb Company and Eason Horticultural Resources. His most recent position was Vice President of Sales at Walters Gardens, Inc. in Michigan.

Annie is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech, with a degree in environmental horticulture. She held summer internship positions at Longwood Gardens and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. Her formal training is complemented by growing up in a nursery family. She is the daughter of Robert Saunders, Sales Manager at Saunders Brothers, Inc. in Virginia, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. GT
