Iwasaki Bros. Turns 100
Chris Beytes
Happy 100th birthday to Iwasaki Brothers! It was 1916 when B.Y. “Billy” Iwasaki started a small dairy farm in Hillsboro, Oregon. Like many agricultural businesses of the day they moved into vegetables, then flowering plants and even Christmas greens.
Today, the business is run by Billy’s grandson Jim, and Jim’s daughters, Theresa and Julie. And to commemorate their Centennial, Iwasaki Brothers held a special invitation-only open house on July 15 featuring vertical wall gardens, a walk-through history display and a catered meal. And they’ll be offering their retailers a Ball Seed exclusive Coleus Inferno with a commemorative tag.
Congrats to the Iwasaki family and may the fourth generation be as successful as the first three!
