Ball Seed  
Karen Brown has been hired as a Ball Sales Rep in British Columbia, covering the Upper Fraser Valley, Northern British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. Karen comes to Ball with an excellent background for the job.  After earning her Diploma at Nova Scotia Agricultural College with High Honors, Karen went into her husband’s family wholesale and retail growing operation. Karen became the head grower for the plug and rooting station part of the business, which shipped product throughout Atlantic Canada. In 2008, Karen moved with her family to British Columbia, where she became a Territory Manager for JVK Ltd.

Mariani Landscape 
 
Frank Mariani Jr. was recently promoted to Manager, West Branch at Mariani Landscape. Frank was previously the Manager of Transitioning Landscape Clients at Mariani Landscape. In this new role, Frank will be responsible for the overall performance of the maintenance business for Mariani Landscape’s West Branch, which has been serving the Western Suburbs of Illinois for over 20 years.

Pleasant View Gardens has hired David Martin (pictured left), as territory sales manager for the Northeast. His new responsibilities include account management, new product launches, territory management and expansion, and production planning, as well as industry relations, operations, and personnel management. Starting his career in horticulture as a sales representative for Vaughan’s Seed (Novartis), David ran his family farm, greenhouse operation, garden center and farm market, called Red Brick Farm, for over four years. Following his time at Red Brick Farm, Martin became a sales representative for Syngenta, where he managed more than 125 accounts in the Northeast.

Syngenta Flowers  
Syngenta Flowers has launched the Syngenta Flowers app for iPad and Android tablets. Syngenta   
Syngenta announced the addition of two new territory managers to its Turf and Ornamental business. Adam Garr will be working with turf customers in the lower peninsula of Michigan, while Chris Threadgill will be responsible for ornamental business in 13 Midwestern states.

Adam joins Syngenta with 16 years of experience in the turf industry. For the past 12 years, he has worked at Plum Hollow Country Club in Southfield, Michigan, serving as the golf course superintendent for the last six years.

Chris joins Syngenta with more than 28 years of experience in the horticulture industry. He has held multiple sales and sales management positions at The Scotts Company. Most recently, he has worked with growers in a sales territory for Valent U.S.A. Corporation. GT
