Article ImageItalian nursery Vivai Sandro Bruschi attracts attention while making a big environmental statement at IPM Essen with this 100% recyclable corrugated cardboard display. Everything, from the exterior walls to the furnishings to the clock—even a cactus and its pot—was made from cardboard. (The boxwood topiaries are real.)

GrowerTalks visited the Bruschi stand in Hall 6 of Essen’s Messe during IPM 2015, January 27 to 30. Staff told us the display was intended to illustrate to visitors Bruschi’s commitment to the environment. One example is called “San Soil,” a research project dedicated to reducing the use of peat in potting mixes by developing compost made from olive oil mill waste. Bruschi, which is also MPS certified, is based in Pistoia and ships some 2,000 varieties to 65 countries.

The display itself was designed and manufactured by Nardi, an Italian firm that specializes in cardboard furnishings and fixtures of all kinds, from tables and chairs to wine racks and, as shown, trade show exhibits. Learn more at www.cardboardfurniture.it. GT
