Garden Center Hit By Thieves

Jennifer Polanz
Pandy’s Garden Center outside of Cleveland, Ohio, became a crime scene May 20, when owner JR Pandy arrived at work and found thousands of dollars of items gone, including plant material, tools and a van, according to a story on Fox 8 News. JR has surveillance video of three people, wearing all white with hoodies and masks, walking around the nursery just after midnight, according to the story.

“They took coffee plants, rubber tree plants, they took amaryllis bulbs,” JR told the news station. “Just really strange things, 40 plants of impatiens they took.” The tools taken include wheelbarrows, a chainsaw and blower. “We had a white Econoline van that they must’ve used to load everything up and take off, so we haven’t gotten all the numbers yet of everything, but I know it’s gonna be in the tens of thousands of dollars.” JR told the station he wonders if the culprits could be private landscapers. He’s offering a $500 reward to anyone who helps to catch the thieves. GP
