Gorgeous Geraniums

Jennifer Polanz
Article ImageThe Perennial Plant Association has announced its 2015 Plant of the Year: Geranium x cantabrigiense Biokovo, which is a naturally occurring hybrid of two geranium species found in the Biokovo Mountains of the Dalmatia region of present day Croatia. Biokova blooms in late spring with masses of five-petaled white flowers that are tinged pink at the base of each petal and have darker pink center stamens. It does well in average, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It’s easy to grow and pairs nicely with Japanese painted fern and late spring-blooming penstemons, such as Prairie Dusk or Pink Rock Candy. GP
