When you think of traditional gardening, you don’t often think of succulents. But then again, who’s talking traditional? These days, customers are looking for something that sets them apart and corresponds to their personality. Many times traditional doesn’t cut it, and for those customers, we offer the easy-breezy world of succulents.

“What we’ve done with our succulents products has been based primarily on home décor versus gardening,” says Siena Randall of EuroAmerican Propagators, which offers a wide variety of succulents in a collection designed to appeal to the decorator. “It seems the consumers who are drawn toward succulents are looking for something easy to take care of and [something] that offers some sort of decorative aspect to it.

“We position it at retail really as more home décor—inside and out.”

With that in mind, we asked Siena for a few recommendations for succulent-themed outdoor décor. Here are just a few options:

Aloes (think lots of texture and color)
Echeveria imbricata
Echeveria runyonii
Sedum nussbaumerianum
