Far left: These Milk Jug containers are crafted from a lightweight fiberclay, which is a hybrid of fiberglass and ceramic . The pots are finished in a range of antique looks and are offered in several shapes.
With the Bathtub Gin Planter (left), Ceramo has merged a couple of classic pot shapes—the basic oval pot and the footed egg pot—into a fun new configuration. The rim is tiered to give it more dynamic tension in the form and the hard edge will contrast perfectly with the organic look of leafy green plants.
Ceramo has worked with one of its factories to develop a range of brightly colored German Standard Pots (bottom far left) with “powder coat” glazes, which offer a dynamic update to the classic standard flowerpot shape. These pots have been one of their biggest hits so far this year in early ordering. These come in a range of sizes and eight brilliant colors.
The Rimmed Basin pot (bottom left), new for 2013, takes the elements of the classic standard flowerpot form and morphs them into a wide basin shape, resulting in an unexpected tension between expectation and function. Native Cast
The Cast Wood II livens up the home with rich wood texture. This piece allowed Native Cast to explore the versatility of its green concrete mix and takes inspiration from the wooden vessels of Southeast Asia. Fitted with a half-inch drainage hole and felt pads to protect surfaces, the Cast Wood Planter stands 12-in. tall. Weighing just 8 lbs.—half of the original Cast Wood planter—this version utilizes our newest technology for lightweight casting.
Hand cast using our proprietary green concrete mix, the Brandywine Bowl is ultra light and thin, yet amazingly strong with reinforced structure. Each planter is fitted with a half-inch drainage hole and includes a coco fiber insert to diffuse the water over the drainage hole. Felt pads are also included to protect surfaces. The largest Bowl planter in Native Cast’s product line, the Brandywine measures 16 in. in diameter and is 5.5 in. high. This planter is approximately 6 lbs. and has a 14-in. diameter planting opening.
New for spring 2013, the latest member of the Cast Wood line is the Window Box. The trough-shaped planter is cast from the rich grain of Kennett Square mushroom board. The Cast Wood box also utilizes their newest technology for lightweight casting. The planter weighs less than 10 lbs. and is 17 in. in length by 8 in. tall by 7.5 in. wide and fitted with a half-inch drainage hole. www.nativecast.com
